2 MONTHS IN KOREA
Hi! This was my very first time traveling alone and out of the country! This trip definitely fueled my existing interest to travel the world.
I spent two months here in Korea and this has been the most life changing experience. I’ve grown and learned so much about myself while exploring this beautiful country.
At first, this was a career move. I applied for a full-time digital marketing internship for a tech start up in Pangyo Techno Valley, Seongnam. I was able to get hands on experience in the field as well as learn so much about the tech and start up industry.
Of course, on my free time I was able to explore Seoul.
Since I was here for 2 months as a college student, I opted for an AirBnb apartment in Hongdae and took the subway to Seongnam every morning. It was a journey but looking back, the exercise was amazing! I loved walking.
With it being my first time here, I was able to visit most of the best tourist places, most of them are pictured below.
Here’s a full list of my general recommendations:
Hongdae
Itaewon
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Namsan Seoul Tower
Lotte World
Dongdaemun Market
Myeongdong Shopping Center
Sinchon
Pangyo Techno Valley
1 million dance studio in Gangnam
And a more detailed “what to do” list:
Shopping in Hongdae for makeup, nightlife, and the performances
Shopping in Myeongdong, and the best street food
Bar hopping in Itaewon
Itaewon feels like America to me because it’s more of a melting pot of tourists and foreigners who moved to Korea, this city never sleeps
Namsan Tower: Take the cable car because I made the mistake of hiking the whole thing (not knowing there was a cable car) and check out the locks of love. Better yet, you can buy a lock and add your own! After, fall in line to sightsee at the top of the tower! The views are worth it
Dongdaemun: Has amazing restaurants, floors of shopping, and this is where Seoul Fashion Week is held, Gyeongbokgung Palace isn’t too far from here either
Visit Lotte World if you have time! It’s a mini amusement park and it’s fun with friends
Sinchon has the best street food. I would walk here all the time at night for a snack or dinner
Pangyo Techno Valley has the best shopping in my opinion for luxury goods
Visit Gangnam! Not only is it the home of K-Pop Stars, but this place has the most luxe restaurants and cafes.
Take a class at 1million Dance Studio
Unfortunately, I do not remember all the restaurant names, but I will continue to add them on as I take time to check the locations on my photos. :)
Thank you for reading!
